Bio
Native of France, Julie trained in Ballet and Contemporary dance. After graduating from the Conservatoire de Paris - directed by Mr Rouiller - where she performed works of Maguy Marin, Dominique Bagouet and Jennifer Muller, Julie started working with the Ballet Preljocaj. She danced major roles with the company and received a Bessie Award for her interpretation of Mary in “Annonciation”. Julie began working for the Cave Canem Company in 2002 in France, before travelling to Israel to work with Inbal Pinto Dance Company. She relocated to the United States where her theatrical exploration of dance through crossover works like Julie Taymor’s Opera “Grendel” encouraged her own choreographic work. She is the co-founder of The Flying Mammoth, a production company created in 2006 as a bridge between art worlds, that consults and links people at different stages of the creation process. Currently she assists Angelin Preljocaj restaging his repertory and lives in New York City where she works as a teacher, rehearsal director and choreographer.
